When we are experiencing difficulties, we tend to neglect ourselves often because we are totally centered on whatever is overwhelming us. It is important to remember that without balance we cannot tackle difficult events. How do we create balance?
First, make your basic needs a priority by eating healthy, and getting 7-8 hours of rest regularly. Second, create balance in your mind by stepping away from your struggle. Do this through spending time in nature, finding exercise that restores you (yoga, running, weight training, long walks), deep breathing exercises, and visualization of events and places that bring you joy.
Finally, create order and beauty in your home through removing clutter and creating a climate of peacefulness. Remember you matter and balance will help you overcome!
