I spend a lot of my week working remotely from home, staring at the same four walls and navigating a sea of digital meetings.
I love what I do, but I’ll be the first to admit that "team building" over a video call feels a bit thin.
You can see your coworkers’ faces, but you can’t really feel the energy of the room.
I have always believed that the best way to actually get to know someone is to get away from the screens and do something together.
There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you’re working on something together in person; the conversation just flows differently. And that was the motivation behind crafting a candle making experience specifically for small teams (more on that later 😁).
Studio News
The studio has been feeling especially vibrant lately as we’ve leaned into hosting more private groups.
We’ve realized that our space serves as a much-needed bridge between the digital world and the physical one.
While our studio can comfortably seat up to 16 guests, the real heart of the experience is our Scent Library.
We’ve been curating this collection for years, and seeing our guests stand in front of those shelves, sharing stories about what certain smells remind them of, is one of my favorite things to witness.
Featured Experience: Unique Team Building
We designed our unique Team Building Experience to be the antidote to the "forced" corporate outing.
It’s a two-hour private session where titles don't matter and creativity takes the lead.
The Experience:
The first hour your team is guided by a Workshop Host through a candle making experience that is different than the one found in our standard public workshop. Each team member will explore, blend, and pour their own custom 10-12oz candle creating their own custom fragrance with a little help from a partner. It’s a sensory deep dive that usually leads to a lot of laughs and "I didn't know you liked that!" moments.
The Private Team Experience Vessel Options
The second hour is for the social connection. While the wax sets, the workshop area is yours. You’re welcome to bring in lunch, snacks, or drinks. It’s a chance to debrief or just hang out in a relaxed, aromatic environment. This has been a delightful activity for book clubs, bridal parties, bands, sports teams and local businesses. We even hosted a small group of mechanics and their families. As an added bonus, everyone leaves with a custom Fragrance Spray they made on the spot, and their candles are ready to pick up in 2 hours or by the very next day.
