How the Patron Collection Candles Turned Into Our Story Through Scent

When I think about the Patron Collection, I don’t just see jars of candles lined up on a shelf.
I see snapshots of life with Gabe.
I know, I am not usually known for being sentimental.
Somehow, those big memories came with smells worth remembering.
When we first started creating fragrances for this collection, we weren’t trying to be sentimental.
We were just having fun in the studio.
Blending, testing, sniffing, but then something happened.
The Patron Collection Candles
One of our very first scent creations reminded us of our first date
.Another reminded us of our post wedding adventures with our friends.
And we realized, these candles weren’t just products.
They were our memories.
And here’s something you might not know: every candle in the Patron Collection is poured into a whiskey glass.
Why? Because whiskey is one of the few spirits Gabe and I both enjoy.
It felt like the perfect vessel for a collection inspired by shared moments.
Bold Brew was the first candle we made. It smells like rich coffee beans with a drop of caramel. We tried so many "coffee" and espresso fragrances that did not smell good.
Eventually we found a process and fragrance oil that triggered the aroma of the little coffee shop in Rochester where Gabe and I had our first date.
One whiff, and I’m right back at that table, nerves and all.
Barcalounger was born right before a weekend away in a secluded cabin.
We brought this candle along to test and the leather and incense vibes blended so well with the natural wood cabin aroma.
This candle will forever capture that feeling of being tucked away from the world, wrapped in quiet, warmth, and comfort.
Wine Cellar takes me back to the afternoon we spent wandering vineyards after our wedding.
The warmth of wood in the tasting rooms.
We both enjoy a rich of wine with a slightly spicy finish.
Every time we light this candle and pour a glass, we are reminded to slow down and enjoy the time we have.
Bibliotheca is from our shared love of books.
There’s something about the stillness of a library.
The adventure of finding a great book store.
This candle brings out memories of old pages and polished wood shelves.
This candle has been a great way to start a morning or end the night.
Creating the Patron Collection wasn’t just fun, it was fulfilling.
Over time every scent we poured had a story, and each story reminded us why we started making candles in the first place.
We don’t always realize, in the moment, that we’re collecting little pieces of our life through scent.
But once you notice it, you start to treasure it.
That’s why the Patron Collection will always be more than just a set of candles.
It’s our story expressed through scent.
Studio Update
For the first time ever, we’re releasing the entire Patron Collection in our studio.
We are making all 21 fragrances available for the rest of 2025.
From Bold Brew to Wine Cellar, including newcomers Crimson Noir and fall favorite Squirrel's Nest.
